Doctor Assessment

Medical Opinion

This report provides a compliant, neutral, relevant, and thorough opinion. It assesses the diagnosis and the events, injuries, or diseases during service. Any positive opinions are backed by solid rationale from professional medical sources. Each opinion undergoes review by an attorney to ensure compliance, neutrality, quality, and legal validity.

What is a nexus Statement?

A nexus statement is a medical opinion within an IMO that connects a diagnosis to a service-related event, injury, or disease. We evaluate the facts neutrally to determine if a medical condition might be service-related. To establish a service connection, these three criteria must be met:

  1. Current Diagnosis: A current diagnosis from a medical professional is essential. It must come from a licensed doctor or mental health professional and meet VA severity regulations. All medical evidence you provide will be reviewed to create a comprehensive file for a doctor’s review. Symptoms need an official diagnosis, such as arthritis for back pain or headaches for head pain.
  2. In-Service Event, Injury, or Disease: This includes events, injuries, or diseases that occurred during service. Alternate theories like secondary and aggravated theories can also be used.
  3. Nexus Statement: This is the “connection” between items 1 and 2, provided by a medical professional, preferably a doctor. We analyze your file to determine the connection. We cannot provide a diagnosis.
